Travel in Delft

From Delft Central Railway Station to your Hotel

Please note that because of the construction going on around the railway station, both the bus and the taxi stands are behind (=on the western side of) the railway station.

If you stay at a hotel in the old city, the most convenient way is just to walk to your hotel.

If you stay at the Hampshire Hotel Delft Centre, take bus 60 or 62 to the stop 'Bieslandhof' or take a taxi. From the bus stop, walk back about 100 meters to get to the hotel.

If you stay at the WestCord Hotel Delft, take bus 80 or 82 to 'IKEA' or take a taxi.

Public transportion in Delft

All relevant bus schedules can be found here. Buses are run by the company Veolia. Payment is done through a so-called "Strippenkaart", which can be bought at Delft Central Railway Station, at the Post Office near the TU Aula, in various shops, or on the bus. The number of 'strips' you need depends on the distance you travel. To get from the city centre or the railway station to the university will cost you two strips (equivalent to one zone). On the bus you can buy tickets of 2 (1.60 Euro), 3 (2.40 Euro), or 8 strips (6.40 Euro). A 15-strip ticket is much cheaper (7.60 Euro). The same ticket can be used for more than one person (but stamp it multiple times!).

 By Car to Delft

From the A13 highway take the exit 10, "Delft-Zuid/TU Delft" and follow the signs "TU Delft". At the end of the exit turn right. After about 1 km, at the modern building which is the TU Delft library, turn left (this is the Christiaan Huygensweg). Free parking space can be found along the right side of this street, the conference building is at the end at the left.
